Watermans Solicitors, Scotland's Number 1 Personal Injury Solicitor Firm are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Motor Claims handler for their modern, vibrant and busy Edinburgh office.
You will be required to pro-actively handle a portfolio of primarily motor claims (including injury cases), but also some EL & PL claims.

Major Responsibilities / Duties:

• Managing claims caseload (including bodily injury claims) in accordance with the claims philosophy, claims handling procedures of the firm.
• Adhering to agreed personal authority limits, referring to the claims manager for authorisation where activity exceeds such limits
• Responding promptly and pro-actively to incoming telephone calls and correspondence by use of telephone, e-mail and letter.
• Controlling claim cost by achieving most economical settlement, through good use of liability and quantum arguments and effective negotiation.
• Maintaining good file discipline and accurate reserves, together with an effective diary system which ensures that cases are reviewed on a regular basis
• Undertaking general claims tasks, as required
